Internal Family Systems (IFS)
What if you were able to talk with your Inner Critic, or ask your People-Pleaser why they work so hard ... what if you could understand why your Perfectionist part can't seem to let go ... would you take the opportunity? At RTS, I offer you exactly that, a chance to better understand all your internal parts through IFS Therapy.
Your Inner Landscape
IFS holds true that we are all comprised of many different parts, and these parts help us navigate the world in ways they believe will keep us safe. For example, the "Controller" may step in when things feel uncertain, pushing for order or authority in an effort to prevent mistakes or emotional discomfort. These internal roles are shaped by past experiences and carry important stories about what we’ve been through. Each part holds onto pain it never had the chance to process, quietly carrying the weight of old wounds. Through IFS, we begin to compassionately unlock what’s been held inside so that healing can happen not only in the past, but also in how you live and relate in the present.
A Few Common Parts
"The Addicted One" - "The Overachiever" - "I'm Too Much"
"I'm Not Good Enough" - "The Avoider" - "I'm Unworthy"
There's a whole world inside of you waiting to be heard.
How it Works
Each session is a space for grounded, curious exploration. We begin by noticing what’s present for you ... this might be a strong emotional response, a sense of tension in the body, or a part of you that feels active or overwhelmed. From there, we gently turn inward together, creating space for that inner experience to be heard and understood.
Rather than speaking about parts, we invite them forward in a respectful, mindful way, often through visualization, direct dialogue, or simply slowing down and noticing what arises. There's no need to force or fix anything. We follow your internal cues with care, allowing each part to unfold at its own pace.
This process helps build a felt connection with your internal family system where protective patterns begin to soften, and deeper emotions can be met with creativity, curiosity, and wisdom. Over time, this work creates more clarity, emotional ease, and an increased sense of wholeness from within.
